Does The Bible Support The Ice Age?

The Ice Age has been taught in our schools and turned into loveable kid’s movies and shows. According to Scientists, the Ice Age took place a billion years ago. This now begs the question, does the Bible talk about an Ice Age? Is there evidence in Scripture for what Scientists are teaching us and our children? Or is this a time when Science and the Bible do not agree? Join ArieRashelle as she searches through Scripture to find the answers in her video, Does The Bible Support The Ice Age?

And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:9-10

28 Has the rain a father, or who has begotten the drops of dew? 29 From whose womb did the ice come forth, and who has given birth to the frost of heaven? 30 The waters become hard like stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

25 To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.

Genesis 10:25

Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb, when I made clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, 10 and prescribed limits for it and set bars and doors, 11 and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?

Does The Bible Support Pangea?

Every Christian knows the Biblical Creation Story of Genesis 1. Each day is written out for us so that there is no confusion about where humans came from. Yet, scientists constantly contradict the Biblical Creation Story with little to no evidence of their own theories and truths. A scientific theory is that all the land on earth was once a supercontinent they have called Pangea. But is that true? Is Pangea Biblical? Does the Bible even mention or hint at the scientific theory of Pangea? Join ArieRashelle as she searches through Scripture for the Truth about this scientific theory in her video, Does The Bible Support Pangea?

Does The Bible Support Pangea?

The Creation Story of the Earth and Land

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Genesis 1:1-5

And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

Genesis 1:9-13

There’s no direct indication that Pangea is Biblical or real in the creation of the earth or the land.

The Possible Hint to Pangea in the Bible

25 To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.

Church Under Attack Pt. 4: The Religion of Science

Scientists claim that we are a small insignificant planet in a small insignificant galaxy spiraling through an ever-expanding Universe. So, where does that leave us? Why would God create man in His own image, die for all of mankind, and seemingly create everything for us if we are so insignificant? How do these Scientific facts compare with Biblical facts? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he compares Scripture and science to understand our place in the Universe in his video, Church Under Attack Pt. 4: The Religion of Science.

Do Science and Scripture Contradict?

Does the earth orbit the sun?

According to Scripture, the sun was created on the fourth day and then placed in the firmament.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth”; and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Genesis 1:14-19

Never does it mention the earth orbiting or moving, but it does mention the sun rising and setting and moving across the heavens.

The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises.

Ecclesiastes 1:5

So, if science directly contradicts Scripture and some still choose science over Scripture, then science has become your god, your source of religion.

Science Contradicts Scripture’s Four Corners of the Earth

11 and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth.

Acts 10:11

1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.

Church Under Attack Pt. 3: Beguiled By Science

Here in the West, the Church is still relatively free. We don’t live in fear that we will be beaten, jailed, or murdered if the wrong people find out we’re Christians. Instead, it’s our beliefs that are under attack. We’re afraid to believe everything in the Bible because we don’t want to seem ignorant or straight-up stupid to the World. Why is that? Because though we are not persecuted physically, our beliefs are under attack. Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he warns us against the dangerous rewriting of Scripture known as the Gap Theory that is sweeping through the Church today in his video, Church Under Attack Pt. 3: Beguiled By Science.

The Gap Theory

The Verse

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Genesis 1:1-5

The Argument of the Gap Theory

According to the Gap Theory, there was a gap between verse 1 and verse 2 of Genesis 1. During this time, it is believed that the earth was without form and void because this was when Lucifer was thrown down to the earth and was turned to Satan. But nowhere in Scripture does God even hint to this being so. So, then why is this becoming a very common belief? Because we have been beguiled by science.

The Problem with the Gap Theory

Revelation 12 records the account of Satan being thrown down to earth. It records him being thrown down at the time of a child’s birth. This baby boy, in Revelation 12, is Jesus. For more on that, check out our video, Revelation 12 War: Why Did Satan Attack?

Isaiah 14 records the account of Lucifer being thrown down to Sheol around the time of Babylon’s fall. This account can’t be during this supposed gap in creation as one of his sins was trying to be above the stars of God, and at this point, the stars were not even created yet.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

Genesis 1:14-19

12 How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! 13 You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ 15 But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit.

Isaiah 14:12-15

For more on Lucifer and when he fell, check out our video Who Is Lucifer?

The other major problem with the Gap Theory is that the Gap Theory says that God got it wrong and wasn’t actually sure how long it took to create everything. Where does it say that? God specifically says, ‘And there was evening and there was morning, the first (second, third, fourth, etc.) day.’ There is no way to twist it. Either God knew how long it took Him to create the universe, or He didn’t. There is no way around it.

Is Science Always Right?

Our world is ruled by two sets of beliefs: a belief based on faith in God or a belief based on faith in science. These two belief systems rule our world. So, as Christians, what happens if science and the Bible contradict? Should Christians believe science over the Bible? Does the science ever contradict the Bible anyway? Is Science Always Right?

Science Vs. The Bible

Creation vs. Evolution

Science

Human evolution, the process by which human beings developed on Earth from now-extinct primates.

Britannica.com

According to science, humans evolved from primates. In other words, apes. How does this match up with the Bible?

The Bible

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 1:26-27

According to the Genesis account, the Theory of Evolution is a direct contradiction to the Bible. So, if science got this wrong, is it possible they got other things wrong as well?
