How Desperate Are You?

“When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that He was back home. Soon the house where He was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While He was preaching God’s word to them, four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above His head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” ~ Mark 2:1-5 NLT

The house was packed. There was no way in, but that didn’t stop them. That didn’t discourage them, they were determined to find a way to Jesus. They climbed on a roof with a paralyzed man on a mat, dug a hole in the roof, and proceeded to lower the paralyzed man down into the hole so that he could be at the feet of Jesus.

Imagine how desperate they most’ve been in order to do that for another person. The faith they must’ve had to do that for another person. How much desire do we have to get to Jesus just for ourselves? They didn’t give up when they saw there was no way in, they climbed the roof and made their own way in. We don’t even make the effort to meet Him in our own home. We don’t have to fight the crowds to hear Him, the Holy Spirit had it all written down for us. We don’t have to fight the government in order to worship our God, we have that freedom, yet we don’t take it.

Our faith has shifted. Our desires have shifted. We no longer desire to hear the Word of God because God would rather us to be happy than to be stressed with what we should and shouldn’t do. We push God away, refuse to talk to Him, and refuse to hear from Him, then we say that it’s because that’s how He would want it. But look at Jesus’ reaction, “Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” You think there would be forgiveness and healing if they hadn’t found a way to Jesus? There is no place other than Jesus that you can find freedom. He is our one source of salvation, peace, healing, life we cannot find those things anywhere else, yet we don’t go to Him. Why? Why do take Him for granted and push Him away? Imagine if we all found our way in to get to Jesus. Imagine the healing, the peace, the new life we would all receive.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and How Desperate Are You?

Move In The Spiritual

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” ~ Ephesians 6:12

Right now, we have one common enemy, COVID-19. If all good things come from above from the Father of Lights, then all bad things must come from The Accuser. Therefore, this COVID-19 is not from God, but from our enemy, and we must fight it. How do we do that? We pray against it. When we pray, things happen in the Spiritual that manifests itself in the Physical.

When in Peter was in prison, and they began to pray, an angel freed him. When Elisha saw the young boy dead, he prayed for him, and the boy began to breathe again. When we pray, things happen. So no matter how silly it may sound, or how hopeless things may look, pray for the things that need to come to pass, and we shall see the physical move.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Start In The Spiritual.

Avail Much

“The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.” ~ Psalms 34:17 NLT

We are currently in a pandemic that is not just affecting one nation or even one side of the Earth, but the entire Earth from East to West is affected by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Many are scared, anxious, worried, weary, grieving, and sick. But God promised us that if we call on Him for help, He would rescue us from all of our troubles. So call on His name. Pray for a cure. Pray for the sick. Pray for this virus to cease to exist. It may sound like the last thing we should do, but prayer is always the first thing we should do.

The prayers of a righteous person availeth much. As a Church we could change our situation, if we would come together and pray. If we would pray in unison as they did in the Upper Room. Things shift in the Spiritual, when we move in the Physical.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Avail Much.

Our Spiritual Armor

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, and with your breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” – Ephesians 6:11-18.

What soldier goes to war without his equipment? And since the war we are fighting is a spiritual one, let us get spiritually ready with our spiritual armor on and march boldly into the enemy’s camp and take back that which he has stolen from us. Whenever you put on the spiritual armor, place each piece where it should go. For instance, when you put on the helmet of salvation, go ahead and place it on your head as if it was physical. Do this with each piece of equipment.

Then, let’s take back our families, our children, our peace, our joy, and our happiness. And don’t forget, let us also take back our finances, our health, our creativity. We are children of the Most High God. Therefore, we are more than conquerors! We are mighty upon the earth! We are victorious in His name!

Our Heavenly Father, I come to you this morning on behalf of the saints which are Your people. I pray for spiritual and financial breakthroughs today, for victories, and for peace. I pray for the unity of families and for favor at work. Give back to Your people what the devil has stolen from them, O’ our God, and place them in positions of authority that they may take their rightful place and bring You glory, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Never Stop Praying

“The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.” ~ Psalms 27:1-3 NLT

Our enemy isn’t always a physical person, but we always have an enemy. Someone trying to take us down. Someone trying to destroy us. Right now our enemy is COVID-19. Now I know that sounds silly. How can a virus be our enemy? It can’t think. It can’t speak. It isn’t just going after Christians. But it’s our enemy because it is against us. The virus itself may not have a consciousness, but the evil one who created it and all evil things, is our enemy. He is trying to destroy not only Christians, but all of humanity.

Revelation 12 says Beware Earth and the Sea because the Devil has come down here and he knows he is running out of time. So he is not a toothless lion with no power, neither is this virus a joke. Last us stand together as brothers and sisters in Christ and pray against other enemy, COVID-19. That this virus would cease and never return. That all infected by this virus will be healed in the NAME of Jesus. That the spread of COVID-19 will come to a screeching halt and health, sanity, peace, and love would fill the Earth.

So don’t be afraid. Don’t allow your hearts to be troubled. Because our God is our fortress. He will protect us when we run to Him. He will save us from any calamity or distress, if we just ask. And when this virus is destroyed, pray against the next enemy that comes, always believing that God can and will overcome anything for us, if we ask.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Never Stop Praying.

Be Held In The Chaos

10 In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.” ~ Job 12:10

God has all of us in His hands. Even those who do not believe. During this time of chaos and uncertainty, we can be certain that our God has not forgotten us. He hasn’t left us. He is still on His throne. And He is holding each and every one of us in His powerful hands. Don’t be afraid, nor let your heart be discouraged; you are loved by God. And He takes care of all that He loves.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Be Held In The Chaos.

Be A Mighty Warrior

1 The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight. So the Lord handed them over to the Midianites for seven years. The Midianites were so cruel that the Israelites made hiding places for themselves in the mountains, caves, and strongholds. Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, marauders from Midian, Amalek, and the people of the east would attack Israel, camping in the land and destroying crops as far away as Gaza. They left the Israelites with nothing to eat, taking all the sheep, goats, cattle, and donkeys. These enemy hordes, coming with their livestock and tents, were as thick as locusts; they arrived on droves of camels too numerous to count. And they stayed until the land was stripped bare. So Israel was reduced to starvation by the Midianites. Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord for help.” ~ Judges 6:1-6NLT

Judges chapter six records how the Midianites would swoop down on Israel at harvest time, and take their harvest. Are you under spiritual warfare? Is the enemy attacking you? Maybe it’s YOUR harvest time. The dreams you’ve dreamt for so long are finally here. The investment that seemed to have died a natural death is beginning to breathe again. Remember the seed you sowed so long ago? It has sprouted and the enemy knows it’s YOUR harvest time. That relationship at home that you’ve been praying for? It is about to be restored.

So don’t give up, just because the enemy has come down with great wrath wanting to steal your harvest. You are a mighty warrior, believe it, even if no one else does. Live it, even if you don’t feel like it, because God believes in you.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Be A Mighty Warrior.

Run To Your Safe Zone

14 And again they wept together, and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-bye. But Ruth clung tightly to Naomi. 15 ’Look,’ Naomi said to her, ‘your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods. You should do the same.’ 16 But Ruth replied, ‘Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. 17 Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!’ 18 When Naomi saw that Ruth was determined to go with her, she said nothing more.” ~ Ruth 1:14-18

Ruth saw that if she returned to her people, she would worse off. She gave up false gods that she grew up with, the culture she was raised in, her false safe place and followed Naomi. Ruth got out of her comfort zone just so she could be close to her true safe place.

Our safe place is with God, yet we are afraid to walk out of our comfort zone to get to Him. We don’t wanna give up our traditions, our friends, our beliefs, our false gods and idols, our strongholds, our addictions, our comfort zone to be with God. All of these things will slowly kill us spiritually because we die where God isn’t, and God isn’t in any of those places.

Orpah couldn’t see past her comfort zone, she couldn’t see the life that would have come from sticking with Naomi. She missed it. But Ruth saw it. She clung to it. She obeyed it. She followed it. She served it. And she was blessed because of it. She will forever be known as one of Jesus’ ancestors. A foreigner with sin, who didn’t grow up with the law, she had foreign gods and idols, yet she saw life and chased after it, so God blessed her for it. And He saved her soul.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Run To Your Safe Zone.

Breathe Life

31 Gehazi hurried on ahead and laid the staff on the child’s face, but nothing happened. There was no sign of life. He returned to meet Elisha and told him, ‘The child is still dead.’

32 When Elisha arrived, the child was indeed dead, lying there on the prophet’s bed. 33 He went in alone and shut the door behind him and prayed to the Lord. 34 Then he lay down on the child’s body, placing his mouth on the child’s mouth, his eyes on the child’s eyes, and his hands on the child’s hands. And as he stretched out on him, the child’s body began to grow warm again! 35 Elisha got up, walked back and forth across the room once, and then stretched himself out again on the child. This time the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes!

36 Then Elisha summoned Gehazi. ‘Call the child’s mother!’ he said. And when she came in, Elisha said, ‘Here, take your son!’ 37 She fell at his feet and bowed before him, overwhelmed with gratitude. Then she took her son in her arms and carried him downstairs.” ~ 2 Kings 4:31-37

Here’s some more background, a woman and her husband took good care of Elisha whenever he was in the town of Shunem. They even built him a room, so Elisha wanted to do something kind for them. When he asked his servant Gehazi what he should do, he told him that she had no son. So Elisha granted her her desire and she was able to have this one son. One day he was out in the fields with his father and he began to have a headache. Then when his mother put him in Elisha’s bed, the boy died. She then had no one enter the room and went in search of Elisha.

When she met Elisha, she told him all that happened. So Elisha told Gehazi to go place his staff on the dead child’s face, expecting to see a miracle, but the woman refused to leave without Elisha, so he went back with her. But Gehazi returned, saying the child was still dead. When Elisha entered, prayed, laid on the child, the child still didn’t jump up alive. So Elisha got up, walked back and forth across the room one more time, praying no doubt, and then tried it again. Then finally the boy woke up.

The little boy didn’t wake up on the first attempt, he didn’t wake up on the second attempt, it took three acts of faith to awaken this dead child. Some of us have pleaded for a child, a business, a miracle, and have been given one. But for some reason, it has died, whether physically or spiritually. You’ve tried to fix it, but it just seems hopeless. But don’t give up hope. If God has given you this child, business or promised you a miracle, He will awaken whatever has died, even if you don’t see life.

It wasn’t until Elisha came in, prayed, and acted, did he begin to see life in the boy again. When something dies, sometimes it’s not enough to just lay down a stick. Sometimes you have to get on your knees and pray. Sometimes you have to layover what is dead and breathe life back into them. It took three tries to awaken that child, yet Elisha never lost hope. Don’t give up. There is still time for that wayward child to return, that business to pick up, that miracle to happen. Don’t give up, don’t be discouraged. Your Heavenly Father is working this out for the good of all of His children. He’s working it out for YOUR good.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Breathe Life.

Focus On Eternity

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.” ~ Hebrews 12:2

Jesus endured all that He did because He knew what was waiting for Him. The pain and shame of the cross would only last a short moment compared to the joy and honor He would receive for all eternity. Jesus had His eyes focused on one thing, eternity. Where are your eyes focused?

Do the temporary things of this world pull you in? Do they control you? Are they how you make your decisions? Jesus never lost sight of what He would gain from the cross, He never allowed what He would lose to stop Him. In life, our call is our one purpose; if we allow this world and its distractions to control what we do and what we want, we will lose out on our great reward that is waiting for us in Heaven. These things won’t last forever, they’re only temporary, but what God has in store for us will last forever.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Focus On Eternity.
