Be Thankful For Grace

1 The Lord spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before the Lord and died, and the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat that is on the ark, so that he may not die. For I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat. But in this way Aaron shall come into the Holy Place: with a bull from the herd for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. He shall put on the holy linen coat and shall have the linen undergarment on his body, and he shall tie the linen sash around his waist, and wear the linen turban; these are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water and then put them on. And he shall take from the congregation of the people of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

“Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering for himself and shall make atonement for himself and for his house. Then he shall take the two goats and set them before the Lord at the entrance of the tent of meeting. And Aaron shall cast lots over the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other lot for Azazel. And Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for the Lord and use it as a sin offering, 10 but the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to Azazel.

11 “Aaron shall present the bull as a sin offering for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house. He shall kill the bull as a sin offering for himself. 12 And he shall take a censer full of coals of fire from the altar before the Lord, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and he shall bring it inside the veil 13 and put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is over the testimony, so that he does not die. ~ Leviticus 16:1-13

We really take for granted the fact that we can just go before God. We don’t have to fear that we will die because we entered the presence of Almighty God. We don’t even realize how we are taking that for granted. Only the High Priest could go into the Holy of Holies. And it wasn’t even whenever he wanted. And he had to bring a sacrifice. He had to do all of this stuff before he entered the Holy of Holies because that’s where God abided.

Now, we as Christians today can’t even give up certain t.v. shows or music, when God abides in us. Isn’t that insane? We as Christians today are so hung up on grace that we actually abuse it. We take it for granted, and we push it too far. We don’t think about the fact that God is living in us, and yet we are parading around as if He doesn’t even exist. How much longer do you think you’ll be able to get away with that? God tells us that tomorrow is promised to no man. Yes, we have grace, but we don’t have the right to live our lives however we want.

We walk into the presence of God with no respect or reverence. We can’t even show enough respect to go to church with something other than basketball shorts and a t-shirt. We are in a generation of no respect. We have taken grace for granted, instead of taking grace as a precious and sacred gift.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Be Thankful For Grace.
