The Lamb’s Book of Life

The Lamb’s Book of Life is the final book read out of at the Last Judgment. The Book of Life has the names of all who will enter into Eternal Life written in it. This now begs several questions, but two of the most important questions are: How do you get your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? What happens if your name isn’t written in the Book of Life? When Are The Names Written In It?

All the names have to be written from before the foundation of the world.

⁸ and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

Revelation 13:8

Is This Predestination?

God says He has given us a choice. He says He even called Heaven and Earth as witnesses to this.

¹⁹ I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,

Deuteronomy 30:19

Therefore, this cannot be predestination. This means that all the names of everyone who will ever be conceived must be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life from before the foundation of the world. This doesn’t mean that everyone will make it into Heaven because the majority of names will be blotted out by the Last (Final) Judgment.

⁵ The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before His angels.

Revelation 3:5

¹³ Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. ¹⁴ For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Matthew 7:13-14

Names Not Written in the Lamb’s Book of Life

At The Last (Final) Judgment, Jesus will open the Book of Life and check to see who’s names are written in it. All whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will spend Eternity in Hell.

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. From His presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. ¹⁴ Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
