Jesus’ Instruction For Prayers

⁹Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. ¹⁰Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. ¹¹Give us this day our daily bread, ¹²and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. ¹³And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

Jesus, Our Unleavened Bread

This upcoming week is the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. These two feasts have been combined into one feast that symbolizes and foreshadows the then-coming salvation offered to us through the sacrifice of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. When we think about the Passover, we usually focus on the sacrificial lamb, but rarely do we focus on the unleavened bread, its meaning and symbolism. The Passover and The Feast of Unleavened Bread

¹⁴This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast. ¹⁵Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven out of your houses, for if anyone eats what is leavened, from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel. ¹⁶On the first day you shall hold a holy assembly, and on the seventh day a holy assembly. No work shall be done on those days. But what everyone needs to eat, that alone may be prepared by you. ¹⁷And you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day, throughout your generations, as a statute forever. ¹⁸In the first month, from the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. ¹⁹For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses. Who Is The Son?

No Broken Bones

The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus are two of the most revered days in history. Jesus was crucified alongside two thieves. Because it was the Day of Preparation, they didn’t want the men on the cross on the Sabbath; they asked Pilate to have their legs broken. When they got to Jesus, He was already dead, so His legs weren’t broken. This fulfilled many prophecies about Christ, but what was the significance? Why was it important that Jesus’ legs weren’t broken? Silent Watchers

In ancient Israel, there would be watchmen on the wall. The watchmen failed in their job and brought destruction upon the entire kingdom of Israel. Israel was taken captive first by Assyria, and then years later, Judah fell to Babylon. As the Church, we have a duty to our nation and people to be watchmen. If we fail, our fate will be no different than those of old who failed before us.
