Second Chances Pt. 2: The Second Touch

Sometimes we expect our second chance to happen immediately. Our miracle we expect to happen at the very first touch. An instant healing, but it doesn’t always happen that way. Sometimes it takes a second touch. Sometimes it takes a second touch. Sometimes we have to try again in order to receive our healing. Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he brings the fiery message entitled Second Chances Pt. 2: The Second Touch.

Second Chances Pt. 2: The Second Touch

1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Second Chances Pt. 1: The Second Time Around

We’ve all fallen down. We’ve all made mistakes that don’t deserve forgiveness but thank God we serve a God that does not give us what we deserve. Instead, He gives us mercy. We don’t deserve it, if we did, it would not be mercy. He doesn’t give us justice because justice would be an eternity in Hell for our sins, but mercy. Mercy is what He gives us lovingly. “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” What exactly does that mean? What was God trying to say? That we can get away with whatever we want and still go to Heaven? Or is there a deeper meaning to this verse from Hosea? How does it affect us in today’s world? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he dissects Hosea 6:6 in this Spirit-filled message, Second Chances Pt. 1: The Second Time Around, explaining the mercy of our God.

Second Chances Pt. 1: The Second Time Around

God Desires All To Have a Second Chance

16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.

John 3:16-17

The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

The Mercy of God

For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Hosea 6:6

10 And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and His disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 But when He heard it, He said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Leaving A Legacy

As we live our lives, we are creating a legacy. Whether we want to or not, we are leaving an impression on the people we meet and encounter. You don’t have to be a celebrity, a pastor of a mega-church, a best-selling author to touch the lives of others and leave your mark on this world. Many ask the question, ‘Should Christians leave a legacy?’ Join us today as Reverend Kenny Yates enlightens us on the importance of Leaving A Legacy and how to leave a legacy.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7
Proverbs 22:6

Leaving a Legacy

Should Christians Leave a Legacy?

For He issued His laws to Jacob; He gave His instructions to Israel. He commanded our ancestors to teach them to their children, so the next generation might know them—even the children not yet born—and they in turn will teach their own children. So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying His commands.

Psalms 78:5-7NLT

22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,

Proverbs 13:22a

How to Leave a Legacy

6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Leaving a Negative Legacy

During our ministry, we met a lady who was on the streets. She lived in a tent towards the front of a forest. When asking if there was anything we could pray for her about, she responded by saying, “I’ve been on the streets my whole life. My mom was on the streets. Her mom was on the streets. This is all I’ve ever known, and this will be all I ever will be. I don’t need any prayer; please pray for my dog to feel better.” This took us back. We were stunned and saddened because we were never able to help her. To this day, she is still living on the streets. This isn’t a story we heard, but a story we witnessed and was a part of first hand. Don’t allow generational curses to keep you down. It isn’t impossible to break strongholds because any and every stronghold/generational curse can be broken in the name of Jesus Christ.

No Significant Features

Throughout our lives, we’ve been taught that God makes Himself and His plans for us known in extravagant ways. Burning Bush. Extreme Storm. Swallowed by a big fish. Fire from Heaven. Rain from Heaven. But does God always speak to us like this? Or sometimes are there no significant features? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he explains that the voice of God may be subtle, no clouds may be in the sky, but the rain is on its way, in his message, No Significant Features.

How Does God Speak?

There he came to a cave and lodged in it. And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 10 He said, “I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

11 And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. 13 And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

1 Kings 19:9-13

There may not be any significant features that you can see, but if you do what God has commanded, and believe that it will be, you will see miracles happen!

LORD Send Someone Else

Miracles happen. Blessings are given. People are healed. If we allow God to do so. Isn’t that a weird concept? The idea of limiting God in our own lives? Sure God can use us, He can use anyone, but we have to let Him use us. He’ll never force us to be used. If we don’t want to, He’ll find someone else. We can join the many people who have missed opportunities God has given us. Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he opens our eyes to the possible missed blessings in his message ‘LORD, Send Someone Else.’

LORD Send Someone Else: Missed Opportunities

10 Moses said to the LORD, “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

11 The LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

13 But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.”

14 Then the LORD’s anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you. 15 You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. 16 He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him.”

Exodus 4:10-16

Limiting God:

And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.” And He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. And He went about among the villages teaching.

Where Will You Spend Eternity?

Do you know where you will spend eternity? Are you prepared to stand before God and receive judgment? Whether it is a reward or a punishment, are you prepared? Does it even matter? Can a soul feel? It doesn’t have nerves, it doesn’t have flesh, so can a soul feel pain? Luke 16 answers this question in great detail. Luke records the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. The two die and their souls are sent to eternity. They both feel. They are both conscious of what’s going on. They are both very aware of their surroundings, yet they are in two different types of eternity.

Jesus gave us a little taste of what punishment would feel like through these scriptures. He gave us a little snippet of eternity. We were shown both a paradise and a torment if given the choice, which would you choose? If you could choose where to spend eternity, which destination would you pick? Rev. Kenny Yates opens our eyes to the realization that eternity could start as soon as tomorrow. So are you ready? Watch the video below, and you decide for yourself where you will spend eternity.

Romans 14:10,12
Hebrews 9:27b
Luke 16:19-31

Where Will You Spend Eternity?

27b It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment.

Hebrews 9:27b

31 When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32 Before Him will be gathered all the nations, and He will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And He will place the sheep on His right, but the goats on the left.

The Hand That Rocks The Cradle

Honoring mothers shouldn’t be celebrated just one day a year; mothers deserve honor all year round! They do so much for us, and oftentimes, they receive nothing in return, not even a thank you. Often times it is a mother who will guide the world. How? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he shows us the importance of a mother in his message, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. And Happy Mother’s Day!

1 Kings 3:16-27
Matthew 20:20-23
Proverbs 18:22

The Hand That Rocks The Cradle

16 Then two prostitutes came to the king and stood before him. 17 The one woman said, “Oh, my lord, this woman and I live in the same house, and I gave birth to a child while she was in the house. 18 Then on the third day after I gave birth, this woman also gave birth. And we were alone. There was no one else with us in the house; only we two were in the house. 19 And this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him.

20 And she arose at midnight and took my son from beside me, while your servant slept, and laid him at her breast, and laid her dead son at my breast. 21 When I rose in the morning to nurse my child, behold, he was dead. But when I looked at him closely in the morning, behold, he was not the child that I had borne.” 22 But the other woman said, “No, the living child is mine, and the dead child is yours.” The first said, “No, the dead child is yours, and the living child is mine.” Thus they spoke before the king.

23 Then the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son that is alive, and your son is dead’; and the other says, ‘No; but your son is dead, and my son is the living one.’” 24 And the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So a sword was brought before the king. 25 And the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other.”

26 Then the woman whose son was alive said to the king, because her heart yearned for her son, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means put him to death.” But the other said, “He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him.” 27 Then the king answered and said, “Give the living child to the first woman, and by no means put him to death; she is his mother.” 28 And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.

1 Kings 3:16-28

This story is not just about two prostitutes or a wise ruling by a very wise king. No, it’s much more than that. It’s about a mother’s love. The real mother couldn’t bear to know the son she had carried for nine months, the son she had travailed within childbirth, the son she had given life to would be cut in two. She’d rather have the thief have him than to see him killed.

The pain of death would be more excruciating for her than the pain of someone receiving his love, enjoying his first steps, rejoicing over his first words. Mothers will suffer so their children won’t have to.

Happy Mother’s Day! May God bless you each richly!

He Is Risen!

God got off of His throne, came to Earth, was beaten and whipped, He was nailed to a cross, and then He died. But His story didn’t end there. He Is Risen!

1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how He told you, while He was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”

Luke 24:1-7

Our God is not dead. He is alive and well. Jesus is alive. He is seated at the right hand of the Father. We serve the Living God.

Here Comes The King

There was a large crowd laying down their cloaks and palm branches before Jesus as He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. But what was Jesus doing there? Here Comes The King

12 The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. 13 So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” 14 And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,

15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”

16 His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about Him and had been done to Him.

John 12:12-16

Our King came riding on a donkey as they laid palm branches before Him. The King has come. And the King is coming back very soon.
