Leaving A Legacy

As we live our lives, we are creating a legacy. Whether we want to or not, we are leaving an impression on the people we meet and encounter. You don’t have to be a celebrity, a pastor of a mega-church, a best-selling author to touch the lives of others and leave your mark on this world. Many ask the question, ‘Should Christians leave a legacy?’ Join us today as Reverend Kenny Yates enlightens us on the importance of Leaving A Legacy and how to leave a legacy.

Leaving a Legacy

Should Christians Leave a Legacy?

For He issued His laws to Jacob; He gave His instructions to Israel. He commanded our ancestors to teach them to their children, so the next generation might know them—even the children not yet born—and they in turn will teach their own children. So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying His commands.

Psalms 78:5-7NLT

22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,

Proverbs 13:22a

How to Leave a Legacy

Leaving a Negative Legacy

During our ministry, we met a lady who was on the streets. She lived in a tent towards the front of a forest. When asking if there was anything we could pray for her about, she responded by saying, “I’ve been on the streets my whole life. My mom was on the streets. Her mom was on the streets. This is all I’ve ever known, and this will be all I ever will be. I don’t need any prayer; please pray for my dog to feel better.” This took us back. We were stunned and saddened because we were never able to help her. To this day, she is still living on the streets. This isn’t a story we heard, but a story we witnessed and was a part of first hand. Don’t allow generational curses to keep you down.
